ACM Tyagi harps on realising strategic mission of the force

Nagpur, Dec 18 (UNI) Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal S P Tyagi today said commanders at all levels in the Indian Air Force (IAF) must realise the strategic mission of the force with respect to the change in the concept of war in the global scenario and the nation's economic might.

ACM Tyagi said they must think about the strategic interests and not confine themselves only to conventional challenges.

Inaugurating the three-day annual commanders' conference of the Maintenance Command of the IAF here, ACM Tyagi said tactical vision was not restricted to geographical boundaries, but encompassed the nation's wider strategic interests.

They must assure the nation of continued peace and stability to achieve the desired economic growth, he said, according to a defence news release.

Air Marshal K S Chaturvedi, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Maintenance Command, spoke about the steps initiated to provide effective maintenance support to the force.
