Trinamool Congress urges Kalam to save Mamata's life
Chennai, Dec 17 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Unit of the All India Trinamool Congress today urged President A P J Abdul Kalam to intervene into the 'fast-unto-death' of their party President and national leader Mamata Banerjee, who is on the 14th day of the hunger strike.
Ms Bannerjee is on a prolonged fast in protest against the West Bengal Government's decision to allot a prime land to the Tata group to set up its small car production unit, rendering hundreds of poor persons landless.
In his letter to the President, a copy which was made available to the press here today, party's State President C K Soman said it was clear that the West Bengal Government has not shown any concern in this connection.
Mr Soman urged the President to take necessary steps to save her from the nefarious decision of the West Bengal Government.
