TN to reiterate demand of raising water level: Minister

Chennai, Dec 17 (UNI) Tamil Nadu would reiterate its demand to raise the Mullaiperiyar Dam storage level to 142 feet, as per the Supreme Court verdict, in the talks between the Public Works Department ministers of Tamil Nadu and Kerala to be held in New Delhi tomorrow, state PWD Minister Duraimurugan said today.

Talking to newspersons at the airport, before leaving for Delhi, Mr Duraimurugan pointed out that he would insist upon his Kerala counterpart to permit the state to undertake some renovation works at the Dam site, as per the Supreme Court direction.

Asked whether the talks between the Chief Ministers could not find out a solution and whether he expected the ministerial level talks would be successful, he said ''let us hope there will be a good outcome''.
