Sonia's stand raises hope of resolving Lankan Tamil issue: MK
Villupuram, Tamil Nadu, Dec 17 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today said UPA Chairperson Sonia Ganidhi's stand on the Sri Lankan Tamils issue had raised hopes of an early solution to the ethnic strife in the island nation.
Launching the second phase of the free land distribution scheme here he said ''her letter written to me regarding the Sri Lankan issue recently has raised hopes of an early solution to the problem.'' Karunanidhi said during his recent visit to Delhi he had met Ms Gandhi and stressed on the need for taking a humanitarian approach to the Sri Lankan Tamils issue forgetting the past.
He had also highlighted the problems posed by the arrival of Sri Lankan refugees in Tamil Nadu, he said.
