RSS hosts massive Hindu Sammelans in Gujarat to awake Hindus

Vadodara, Dec 17 (UNI) The Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS) today launched 'Hindu Sammelans' across Gujarat to commemorate the birth centenary of its former Sarsanghchalak Guruji Madhavrao Golwalkar.

As part of the Guruji's centenarycelebration, the Sangh has planned to hold Hindu Sammelans in 350 of the total 368 talukas in the State in the next 36 days which were be addressed by eminent sants, mahants, scholars and leaders of the Sangh Parivar.

Addressing newsmen here today, Gujarat RSS General Secretary and Guruji Janma Satabdi Samaroh Samiti Secretary Sudhir Mehta said the objective of the sammelans was to promote Swadeshi and social upliftment of the Hindus, while creating awareness among them about the threat to the nation's security.

Mr Mehta, who will be launching the 36-day-long programme in the State at a Hindu Sammelan organised at Tarsali on the outskirts of the city this evening, said the sammelans would conclude on January 21 next year.

While RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat was scheduled to address two such sammelans at Karnavati and Netrang on December 31 and January 2 next respectively, VHP general secretary Pravin Togadia will be addressing at least five Hindu Sammelans at Gandhinagar, Sidhpur, Surat and Vadodara on December 24 and 25, the RSS leader said.
