JKDYF seeks 100 per cent jobs for state youth in pvt sector
Srinagar, Dec 17 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Youth Federation (JKDYF) today urged the Centre and the state government to ensure 100 per cent jobs for skilled and unskilled youth in the private sector.
During a day-long convention here, the JKDYF passed several resolutions which called for providing employment opportunities and special avenues for the youth of the state besides filling up vacancies in all departments.
Till then, the unemployed youth should be given some special allowance to enable them to sustain themselves, it added.
The party said the Jammu and Kashmir government should ensure 100 per cent jobs for both skilled and unskilled youth in the private sector in case of investment from outside the state.
It also stressed upon the need for launching a powerful masss movement to put an end to the harrasment of the youth of Jammu and Kashmir within and outside the state.
The JKDYF said people at the helm of affairs claimed that the situation was fast improving in Jammu and Kashmir. ''Thus, there is no validity for dracnonian laws such as the Disturbed Areas Act and the Armed Forces (Special) Powers Act (AFSPA),'' it added.
The party called for immediate release of all detainees and also those who were released despite court orders.
It called for disbanding of the Special Operation Group (SOG) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and other ''repressive'' organs.
The JKDYF also urged the authorities to ensure safe return of the disgruntled youth from across the Line of Control (LoC).
The convention was addressed among others by CPI(M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, DYFI president K N Balagopal, JKDYF chief Kishore Kumar, JKDYF Gneeral Secretary Mohammad Amin Dar.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Tarigami said 2007 would be the turning point in the history of the South Asian region.
There would be serious moves from the political leadership of India, Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir for resolution of all outstanding issues peacefully and amicably, he added.
''Kashmir is crying for a solution...Time is fast running out.
Now is the time for bold initiatives to end all hostilities. But in any resolution process, Kashmiris need to be partners,'' he said.
Mr Tarigami urged the political and separatist leadership of the state to end all rhetoric and called for joint efforts for making the ongoing peace process a success.
