Police said they along with the troops of 52 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) busted a Lashkar module in Sopore and arrested four militants of the module.

Police said they were involved in the conspiracy behind the killing of 35-year-old Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Shah, a dental surgeon, of Zachaldara (at present Braripora, Handwara) by slitting his throat on October 8 this year. They had later set on fire his car, decamped with cash and taken out money from his ATM Card.
Police said they were also involved in firing incidents on the Sopore Police camp, setting on fire a beauty parlour and opening fire on a woman, Misra Begum.
Police said the ultras were involved in indoctrinating the minds of young boys to join militancy and carried out their activities at the behest of LeT commander Showkat Ahmed Najar alas Munna Janwari of Bhatpora, Sopore.
''They had also started outsourcing militant activities through school drop-outs, juvenile delinquents or those addicted to drugs, liquor and other forms of intoxication.'' Two days ago, police said they had recovered a large consignment of arms and ammunition, including 37 grenades, ten magazines and 300 rounds of ammunition, from river Jhelum near Sopore.
