FGN Education 'Minister'Kilonser shot dead in Kohima

Kohima, Dec 17 (UNI) Unidentified gunmen shot dead the self stylea Education Kilonser(Minister)' of the Federal Government of Nagaland'' (FGN)' L Palang Khiamniungan near the Nagaland Assembly Secretariat here.

Official sources here today said the gunmen came on foot and shot him twice on his head and chest yesterday, killing him on the spot.

The gunmen then walked away casually from the spot and vanished among the crowd of Christmas shoppers during the rush hour.

FGN's Rali-Wali (Publicity and Information) Kilonser' Gaibon Panmei described the incident as shocking and said in the Christmas season the Naga leader hailing from Nokhu village under Noklak sub-division of Tuensang district was allegedly killed by the NSCN(IM) ultras.

The crime was committed at a time when the Naga Mothers' Association and Nagaland Baptist Church Council were sparing no pains for a reconciliation with the slogan ''shed no more blood'', he added.
