Eshani, Desilva shine as SriLanka beat Pak by 5 wickets

Jaipur, Dec 17 (UNI) All-round performance by Eshani (unbeaten 36) and a brilliant half century by Desilva (50) helped Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by five wickets in the third Asia Cup women's cricket championship here today.

Medium pacer Eshani Lokusuriya first bowled well scalping three for 40 to restric Pakistan to 166 in 50 overs. Later she displayed a whirlwind unbeaten knock of 36 off 38 balls with four fours besides a spectacular 50 off 66 balls (8 fours) by Desilva to see their side reaching the victory target losing five wickets in 39.4 overs. The former was adjudged the women of the match.

Sri Lanka, with this victory has recorded second win in three matches as they had lost a tie to India in the first round, while this was the third successive defeat of Pakistan, which buts them virtually out of the contest.

Bismah Mahroof 22, Sana Mir 35 (67 b, 4x4), Sana Javaid 31 (54b,4x4) and Batool Fatima 22 were the main scorers for Pakistan.
