ESC to organise Indiasoft 2007 in Hyderabad

New Delhi, Dec 17 (UNI) The Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) will organise its global networking event on January 9 and 10 next year in Hyderabad to showcase the country's IT capabilities and outsourcing partnerships to the global business community.

The event, Indiasoft 2007, is sponsored by the Ministries of Communications and Information Technology and Commerce and Industry in partnership with the Andhra Pradesh government.

''This initiative is a conscious effort to prepare Indian companies to capture a sizeable share of the outsourcing global market. More than 60 per cent of the Fortune 500 companies are outsourcing their works and expectations are that this number is going to increase in the coming years,'' ECS Executive Director D K Sareen said.

Indiasoft 2007 will focus on major industry segments that require software and services such as communications, entertainment and IT, banking and insurance, public services, logistics, manufacturing, oil gas and mining, retail, educational institutions and travel and transport.

The IT event, to have presence of more than 600 senior executives from the domestic and global companies, is touted to act as a business-to-business partnering forum.

ESC had held four consecutive editions from 2001-2004 of Indiasoft in the national capital, followed by Indiasoft 2005 and 2006 in Chennai.
