Women, NGOs should bring minor cases to notice of police

Visakhapatnam, Dec 16 (UNI) Sabala Mytri and Swashakti organistion Secretary K Saraswathi today said women's organisations and NGOs's should bring minor cases to the notice of police.

Speaking to mediapersons here, she said though being civil in nature, the domestic violence Act ensured that relief would come to the complainant within 60 days. Hence there should not be any doubt that a case would run long, she added.

A pledge was being administered to them to fight domestic violence against women.

However, the response from the youth segment was good and there were more queries and a willingness among youngsters to prevent violence against women at home, she added.
