UP Minister Rana nominated Olympic Association vice-president

Lucknow, Dec 16 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Minister for Culture and Information and Technology Rajendra Singh Rana has been nominated as the Vice President of the UP Olympic Asociation.

A decision to this effect was taken at the meeting of association here today, UP Olympic Association President Kalraj Mishra announced here today.

He said that Mr Rana was nominated on the post which had fallen vacant due to demise of its incumbent.

The UPOA directed all the sports associations to organise camps and select the teams for National games scheduled to be held in Asom in February next year.

Meanwhile, the UPOA, which is at war with the other association headed by Union Minister Akhilesh Das,said that since the dispute was with the All India Olympic Association, the activities related to development of the sports in the state should not be hampered.

''Let the All India body decide the dispute,'' it said.
