2 hard core militants nabbed, 61 IEDs recovered

Imphal, Dec 16: Two hardcore militants were nabbed by Assam Rifles while 61 IEDs have been recovered in anti-insurgency operations at Chandel district.

The Assam Rifles said here today that in order to flush out militants, troops of 22 Maratha Light Infantry launched an operation last evening and a Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) cadre was nabbed.

AR sources said during preliminary interrogation of the KYKL cadre, another United National Liberation Front (UNLF) cadre was also later apprehended.

Meanwhile, continuing with their ongoing operations in Samtal area of Chandel district, troops so far on date has neutralised 61 lEDs.
