Tripura would be included in Indo-Myanmar gas link: Ramesh
Agartala, Dec 16 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jairam Ramesh assured the Tripura government that it would be included in the proposed Indo-Myanmar pipeline gas link.
The Union Minister who arrived here yesterday on a two-day visit to the state, went to several areas, including Akhaura checkpost at the Bangladesh border, said that the Centre is likely to consider the state government's demand for its inclusion in the proposed Indo-Myanmar pipeline gaslink.
Expressing happiness over the proposed country trade fair to be organised by the neighbouring Bangladesh here in March. Mr Ramesh said the government should develop a semi-permanent trade fair ground here and a proposal might soon be sent to the ministry for necessary approval.
The Union Minister also assured the state government that the Centre would look into the programmes and projects pertaining to roadways network in the state.
Mr Ramesh also assured the state government officials during his visit to Bodhjungnagar industrial growth centre, about 15 kms from here, that ''export'' term would be removed from air tariff subsidy scheme for fruits and other perishable products to benefit the entire NE region.
