Sri Lanka's Murali and Malinga rout Kiwis for 130

SYDNEY, Dec 16 (Reuters) Sri Lanka spinner Muttiah Muralitharan claimed four wickets and paceman Lasith Malinga took five as New Zealand were skittled out for 130 on the second morning of the final test in Wellington today.

Sri Lanka, trailing 1-0 in the series, had reached 41 for no wicket in their second innings by lunch for an overall lead of 179 runs after being dismissed for 268 yesterday.

Resuming on their overnight 66 for four, New Zealand never hit their stride and the lively Malinga took his third wicket of the innings when he bowled Mathew Sinclair for six to make it 75 for five.

Malinga repeated the trick to dismiss Daniel Vettori for a duck before Muralitharan trapped Jacob Oram and James Franklin leg before both for one.

Murali gained another leg before verdict against Shane Bond (8) before the defiant Brendon McCullum was last man out for 43 from 61 balls when he was defeated by the Sri Lankan off-spinner and bowled.

Sanath Jayasuriya was unbeaten on 19 and Upul Tharanga on 20 at lunch with Sri Lanka seeking to square the series after losing the opener in Christchurch last week by five wickets.
