No radiation found on Aeroflot planes on Moscow-Hamburg route

Moscow, Dec 16 (UNI) No radioactive contamination has been found during the examination of an Aeroflot aircraft that recently flew from Moscow to Hamburg, Russian chief sanitary inspector and head of the Russian Federal Consumer Rights Protection Service (Rospotrebnadzor) Gennady Onishchenko said.

''The planes engaged on the routes Sheremetyevo (Moscow)-Hamburg-Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo (Moscow)-Hamburg-Domodedovo belonging to Aeroflot Russian Airlines have been examined in the past 24 hours,'' Mr Onishchenko told Interfax news agency.

''Over 1,100 alpha emission and 960 gamma emission tests have been conducted. No radioactive contamination has been revealed,'' he said.

A total of 25 Russian planes flew between Sheremetyevo and Hamburg from October 25 and December 1, he added.
