No complaint on minority atrocities in one year
Bhopal, Dec 16 (UNI) Notwithstanding various incidents about atrocities on minorities, particularly Christians, in BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh, the State Minorities Commission today claimed it had not received a single complaint about atrocities on them in past one year.
The Commission, however, looked into 600 complaints received earlier and found 20 cases serious and sent its recommendations to the state government for suitable action, its Chairman Anwar Mohammad Khan told reporters here today.
He claimed that the Commission played an active role to reduce communal tension in the state. It also launched various programmes for creating awareness among the minorities and a week-long programme would be organised from December 18 in this regard, he added.
Christian groups in Jabalpur, Bhopal, Dhar and other places had reported atrocities on them by Bajrang Dal and other Hindutwa forces in recent months.
