Man commits suicide in police station at Kannad in Aurangabad
Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Dec 16 (UNI) A 32-year-old man, who was brought to the Kannad police station for stealing a bicycle, allegedly committed suicide today.
The 32-year-old man Lahanu Sonawane was brought to the police station at about 1630 hrs by a complainant. The police had not even booked him for any offence and were yet to listen to the complainant, when the man hung himself from a celing fan in one of the rooms at the police station, police sources told UNI.
The policemen on duty were busy doing their routine work when the incident occurred.
Senior police officials including Additional Superintendent of Police Navin Chandra Reddy rushed the spot this evening after learning about the incident.
