Inter-University Wrestling to be held in Gulbarga from Dec 18

Gulbarga, Dec 16 (UNI) About 800 wrestlers will vie for top honours in the All India Inter-University Wrestling Championship for men and women, to be held here from December 18 to 22.

Gulbarga University Vice-Chancellor B G Mulimani said in a press conference here today that 600 men and 200 women wrestlers from 84 universities would take part in the championship.

He said there would be eight categories for men and seven for women in the tournament, organised by the Gulbarga University in coordination with the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.

Agriculture Marketing Minister Sharanabasappa Darshanapur would inaugurate the tournament and Animal Husbandry Minister N Revu Nayak Belamgi would distribute the medals, he added.
