Infiltration bid foiled, 3 ultras, 2 civilians killed
Jammu, Dec 16 (UNI) Security forces today foiled an infiltration bid and gunned down two Pakistani intruders at the Line of Control (LoC) in border district of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said here.
Army spokesperson said security forces spotted the movement of a group of six to seven infiltrators, who were trying to cross the LoC at a mountainous point on Krishna Ghati, about 240 km from Jammu early today.
''Troops of 10 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) spotted the two rebels sneaking into the Indian side in the forested mountain area.'' A gun fight started between security forces and militants and ultimately both the ultras were killed, sources said.
Two AK 56, one GPF, one radio set, eight magazines one map and 10 grenades were recovered from the spot. The slain militant is yet to be identified, the sources added.
In another incident, security forces, in a joint operation with BSF, Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operation Group (SoG), gunned down Jaish-e-Mohammad militant Manzoor Ahmed (18), alias Muddassar, alias Abu Noman, in encounter at Basan under Reasi police station in Udhampur district.
The sources said another militant, who was along with Manzoor, managed to escape from the site but the search operation was still on to nab him. One Chinese made pistol, two magazines, 20 pistol rounds, one hand grenade, a mobile phone and one dairy were recovered.
In Rajouri, unidentified militants killed a girl, Parveen Akhtar (20) from Palali Duraj and Liyaqat Ali hailing from Morha Bakhori.
