Criminals attack police personnel, 2 hurt

Guna, MP, Dec 16 (UNI) Two police personnel were injured and their jeep damaged as about a dozen absconding criminals attacked a police party that attempted to arrest them.

The incident took place at Khaijarchak near Ruthiai in this district on Wednesday.

When a seven-member police team led by Dharnavada SHO Rambabu Raghuvanshi reached the village to detain the warrantees, the assailants initially went underground and fired at the police vehicle injuring Head Constable Shivraj Singh and Constable Vinod.

A case of attempt to murder was registered against the assailants, including Ramgopal, who carried a reward of Rs 10,000, and Sooraj Pardi, who carried a reward of Rs 5,000.

In a similar incident, a police party was attacked at Kainyakala village under Chachoda police station recently.
