CPI (M) worker killed by suspected BJP activists

Thrissur, Dec 16 (UNI) A CPI (M) worker was today hacked to death by suspected BJP activists at a private hospital in Chalakkudy near here.

Police said Mashim (28), an accused in many criminal cases, including the murder of a BJP activist Satyaneshan in Kodungaloor, was attacked by a three-member gang at the hospital.

Mashim, a headload worker, was already undergoing treatment at the hospital for injuries which he' had sustained during a political clash at Alloor.

Previous enmity was believed to be the reason for the attack, police said.

Meanwhile, the CPI (M) alleged that BJP and RSS workers were behind the heinous attack.

A hartal is being observed in Mala, Chalakkudy and Kodakkari areas of the district to protest the killings.
