Ashes spin-off: Monty laughs his way to the bank

London, Dec 16 (UNI) Making hay while the sun shines on his spectacular Ashes debut, England's spin sensation Monty Panesar has launched his personal website and a clothing range to cash in on his burgeoning cult status.

Monty, the first Sikh to play for England, is expected to become cricket millionaire quicker than teammate Kevin Pietersen, the other hot property of English cricket.

Monty's adviser Minaxi Mistry told The Guardian, ''He doesn't just appeal to Asians. The biggest thrill has been seeing English boys pulling on Monty masks. He's going to be snapped up by a lot of companies.'' The left-arm spinner would be better known through www.monty-panesar.com and a range of products that includes bats and balls, T-shirts, polo shirts, baseball caps, magic mugs amnd even his famous patka.

''We are calling them bandanas,'' said Mistry, adding ''It will already be made up so all you have to do is tie it at the back.

''We are also marketing personally signed canvas paintings. And fans will be able to interact with him through his website. There will be plenty of Q and A opportunities,'' she added.

Monty's agent David Parsooth said, ''I'm hoping to take a delivery next week. So I'm not certain yet what will be available for Christmas. Considering he only established himself as a county player last year what he has achieved is incredible.'' UNI XC AY SAM GC1101
