Mobile health clinics under scanner in Bihar
Patna, Dec 15 (UNI) The Bihar government was strictly monitoring the functionings of mobile health clinics, launched in four districts, and would expand it only after its satisfactory performance.
To a short notice question of RJD member Abdul Bari Siddiqui, Health Minister Chandramohan Rai today admitted in the House that the performance of the agency, engaged in the work through contract, was not satisfactory and had been given a warning for cancellation in case it did not improve its performance as per the conditions mentioned in the contract letter.
Mr Rai said the mobile health clinic service had been launched in Patna, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur and Purnia districts and would be expanded to other districts as well.
He said the payment of the agency engaged in the work had been deducted in the wake of the poor performance and final payment would not be made if the work remained unsatisfactory.
To a question by RJD member Ramchandra Purvey, the Minister said institutionalised delivery system was being promoted in the rural areas and regular vaccination programme had been launched to minimise the infant mortality rate.
