Bengal and German's trade will rapid change for direct flight

Kolkata, Dec 15 (UNI) German Ambassador to India Bernd Mutzelburg today said a 300-member business delegation will visit India in March to look into opportunities in various sectors like IT, ITeS, Leather, Bio Technology, Pharmaceuticals etc.

Talking to mediapersons here today in an interactive session organised by the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr Mutzelburg said, ''I will try to bring the delegation to West Bengal. I hope that the recently introduced Lufthansa flight will boost trade between West Bengal and the Federal Republic of Germany in near future.

The ruling Left Front government in Bengal understands business and we are surprised to find such a Communist government in West Bengal.'' He said, ''Our government has shown interest in increasing trade and industrial tie-ups with India and strongly focussed on West Bengal.'' He said Indian economy has grown over nine per cent and there has been a growth of thirty five per cent trade between both the countries.

Business relations have increased between both the countries and several Small and Medium Entreprises(SME) are coming to India from Germany, he said.

He said a 12-member delegation from Germany had visited Pune, Chennai and Mumbai in November for wooing investment but did not come to the state. After the introduction of Lufthansa flights, Bengal has fair chance to woo investment.

''Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will visit to Hannover and the country will be the guest of honour at Tourism Fair to be held in Berlin next year, he informed.
