New Delhi, Dec 14 (UNI) The Union Government today submitted before the Delhi High Court that it had allotted Indian Railway Personnel Service(IRPS) to T D Dinakar, a blind candidate, who had qualified the Indian Civil Services in 2001.

Appearing before a Division bench of Chief Justice M K Sharma and Justice Hima Kohli, Additional Solicitor General P P Malhotra submitted that the govenment was contempleting to earmark more posts in All India Services for the physically disabled persons.

Acting on the petition of Coimbatore-based Dinakar, who had scored 319th rank in the examination in 2001, the Court directed the Indian Railways to allow Dinakar to have an escort with him for few weeks.

The Court asked Dinakar to appeal the Railway authorities to grant him some more time for joining his job.

Even though Dinakar had qualified the examination in 2001, the government had not given him appointment till he filed a petition before the high court seeking direction to the authorities.

A single bench of the High Court had ordered the government for issuance of his appointment order in accordance with his qualification and rank in the examination.
