Wood, Forestry industrial fair Ligna Hannover from May 14

Bangalore, Dec 13 (UNI) The Northern German city of Hannover will host the Global Wood and Forestry Industry trade fair Ligna Hannover for five days from May 14, 2007, Hannover Messe Managing Director Wolfgang Pech said today.

Addressing newspersons here, he said the biennial Ligna Hannover, the world's leading showcase for providers of woodworking machinery, forestry technology, reconstituted wood products and timber-based construction solutions, would be the shop window for the entire wood production chain, spreading everything from the forestry and timber industries to the industrial mass production of finished wood products and innovative surface finishing technologies.

Mr Pech said over 1,800 exhibitors from over 40 nations were expected to showcase their products and services on a massive net display area of over 1,30,000 sqmt. The event was an ideal place for gathering new ideas and forging invaluable business contracts.

Ligna Hannover 2007 featured an overall display of categories, including Forestry, Sawmill technology, Solid Wood Working, Wood materials and Veneer Production and Furniture Industry. The exhibition programme was also complemented by a rich array of special display, seminars and conferences targetted at practitioners as a perfect platform for knowledge transfer and networking.
