Woman was dragged out of bathroom and hackled by women
Itanagar, Dec 13 (UNI) In a barbaric act, a 21-year-old woman was dragged from bathroom, manhandled, and tonsured by a group of women at West Siang in Arunachal Pradesh on Monday, evoking condemnation from various quarters.
Police super S K Jain told UNI today the crime was pre-determined by one Marbi Ete, wife of Hiba Ete, a local resident, along with four or five others. They attacked her with scissors and blades around mid-noon when she was taking bath and beat her till police arrived at the spot to rescue her.
Police arrested three women, who were remanded to 14 days police by a court in this connection, the SP informed.
Suspecting that the victim had illicit relation with her husband, Marbi planned the attack, the SP said.
Meanwhile, members of Aalo Woman Welfare Association, an NGO, have been providing counseling to help the victim recover form the trauma and shock caused by the atrocities committed on her.
The three arrested accused were remaned to 14 days police custody by a local court yesterday.
