Uttaranchal Government to honour Rana

Dehradun, Dec 13 (UNI) The Uttaranchal Government will honour Ace Indian Shooter Jaspal Rana who has received the Best Athlete Award at the Doha Asian Games.

Congress State General Secretary and Minister of State Dhirendra Pratap said the state Government would also honour wicket keeper of the Indian cricket team Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Mr Pratap, speaking on the prospect of Jaspal Rana contesting in the forthcoming State Assembly Election with a BJP ticket, said it was purely a family matter of the Rana family.

Rana, who hails from Uttaranchal, has a potential to become a world champion and should concentrate more on his shooting and bring accolades to the nation rather than jump into the politial bandwagon.

However, even the Congress wants him to concentrate more on shooting rather than join politics.
