South African club loses by five wickets

Chandigarh, Dec 13 (UNI) Chandigarh Under-17 team defeated South Africa Alberton Cricket Club U-17 XI by five wickets in their seventh tour match here today.

Batting first, the South African side scored 131 for seven in their allotted 25 overs. Nicholas Botha (32), Reyenke Wihan (13), Jaundre Potgieter (34) and Izak Strydom (23) were their main scorers. Guntash (3 for 29), Naveen (2 for 14) and Mohit (2 for 24) were the most successful bowlers for Chandigarh XI.

Gaurav Chabrha raced Chandigarh to victory with an unbeaten knock of 78 with 12 fours. Chandigarh XI made 133 for five in 23.2 overs.

Reyneke Wihan and Joundre Potgieter got one wicket each for just nine and 13 runs respectavily.

On December 15, the visitors play against Himachal Cricket Association XI at Dharamshala.
