Rajasthan guv lauds efforts of IT professionals

Varanasi, Dec 13 (UNI) Rajasthan Governor Pratibha Patil today lauded the role of IT professionals in bringing India at par with developed nations, but expressed concern over the decline in moral values world over.

Addressing the concluding function of Malaviya Jayanti celebrations at the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) here, Ms Patil lauded the efforts of talented IT professionals.

''Parents in USA and Europe now goad their wards to work hard, by raising the fear of their jobs being captured by promising Indian minds, which speaks volumes about our country's rising stature in the developed world,'' Mr Patil said quoting newspaper reports.

She further said young Indian minds needed to work endlessly to make the country a global superpower. Ms Patil, however, expressed concern over decline in moral values world over, including India.

Ms Patil appreciated the role played by BHU in preserving and furthering moral values pursued by great visionary and varsity founder Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya.

Presiding over the function, BHU vice-chancellor Panjab Singh highlighted the academic and research activities in BHU and future plans of the central varsity.
