Police strengthen security as Naxals call bandh

Warangal, Andhra Pradesh, Dec 13 (UNI) Police have strengthened security in Warangal, Khammam and Karimnagar districts in the Telangana region, in view of the call for a bandh given by the Praja Prathighatana Naxals protesting against the recent encounters in Khammam district.

Police had started a thorough check of all the vehicles passing through these three districts since last night. They also searched the houses of suspicious persons since late last night to prevent any untoward incidents.

The state owned Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) had cancelled 50 bus services to problematic areas including Mulugu, Parkal and Narsampet here.
