Mizoram to set up medical college
Aizawl, Dec 13 (UNI) The Union Health Ministry has asked Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga to develop infrastructure for setting up medical college in Aizawl next year.
According to the Chief Minister's Office here Union Health Minister A Ramadoss assured to convert the Falkawn Referral Hospital into a State Medical College and asked him to proceed for teaching staff and other internal logistics during his recent Delhi visit.
Since Mizoram is favourable environment for education, especially in the areas of medical and engineering courses, the concerned department has been instructed to do feasibility study for seting up the institutions.
The official sources said the Central Aviation Minister Praful Patel has accepted the proposal to send an expert team to make assessments for the installation of Instrumental Landing System and Digital Current Weather Instrument System at state's lone airport in Lengpui.
Mizoram Government also received the approval of Rs 155 crores to convert the Assam Rifles ground to international sports complex, the sources addd.
