Ministry to look into restructuring of HSL, BHPV

Visakhapatnam, Dec 13 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Mines T Subbarami Reddy today said both Finance Minister P Chidambaram and Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Minister Sontosh Mohan Dev had assured to look into the possibility of restructuring Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) and Bharat Heavy Plate Vessels (BHPV).

In a statement here, Mr Reddy said he had urged the Finance Minister to strengthen and restruture the HSL in view of the heavy orders it had.

He said Mr Chidambaram had assured to look into the option of restructuring the HSL.

On BHPV, Mr Reddy said proposals were put forward for merging the BHPV with the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited(BHEL), one of the most successful profit making public sector units.

He said the merger would benefit both the companies, as good mangement expertise and technical capability of both the companies would yield good results.
