Mahapatra to be new Police Commissioner of Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, Dec 13 (UNI) Mr J Mahapatra, wILL be the new police Commissioner of Ahmedabad city.

The decision came after the Gujarat government today transferred 60 IPS officers.

Mr Mahapatra would replace Ahmedabad Police Commissioner KR Kaushik who has been transferred to Anti-Corruption Bureau(ACB), Ahmedabad and will also hold additional charge as Managing Director of Police Housing Corporation at Gandhinagar.

Sudhir Sinha, Police Commissioner, Surat, has been posted as additional IGP, CID(Intelligence), Gandhinagar.

Deepak Swaroop, Police Commissioner Vadodara has been transferred to Gandhinagar as additional IGP SC/ST atrocity cell.

RMS Brar has been posted as Surat Police Commisisoner while PC Thakur has been posted as Vadodara Police Commissioner.

O P Mathur has been made IGP(Jails) Ahmedabad from his earlier posting at Gandhinagar (Communications).

Eighteen other police officers have been also transferred and some of them have been promoted.
