Left calls for Jharkhand Bandh tommorrow
Ranchi, Dec 13 (UNI) Left parties have called a statewide bandh tomorrow in support of their demand including holding panchayat election and proper implementation of National Rural Guarantee Scheme in state.
State secretary of the Communist Party of India(Marxist) Gyanshankar Mazumdar told UNI that all the left parties, including CPI, CPI(ML), Forward Bloc(FB) and Marxist Coordination Committee (MCC) had extended their support to the proposed bandh.
Mr Mazumdar said statewide dharna would be a part of the agitation. Besides rail, road transport would also be disrupted tommorrow.
He said various labour organisations, including CITU and AITUC, had called for a nationwide strike against the anti-people policy of the central government. The Jharkhand bandh has also been merged in the nation wide agitation, he added.
Mr Mazumdar said other issues for the agitation were formation of Gram-Sabhas, strengthening the public distribution system and implementation of employment scheme for the poor living in urban areas.
However, RJD has also extended its support to the nationwide agitation, state unit president Gautam Sagar Rana said.
Meanwhile, the home department sources said security has been tightened due to ultras support to the proposed agitation.
