International Conference on WSAN in IIT
Allahabad, Dec 13 (UNI) Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) here will organise a three-day international conference on wireless communication and sensor networks from December 17 to 19.
About twenty five dignitaries from across the world would participate in the conference. Prof Dharma P Agrawal, a noted expert from the United States would inagurate the conference on december 17, according to IIT Director Dr Murali Dhar Tiwari.
Dr Tiwari said that wireless sensor and actor networks (WSAN) was a fast emerging technology for remote distributive monitoring and control that would take advantage of the developments in wireless communication besides other fields like embedded systems, semantic web, smart surroundings. Unlike the conventional sensor arrays, conservation of power and wireless channel bandwidth is of utmost importance.
He said that overall goal of the conference was to stimulate research and to provide a forum for exchange of ideas among international and national community working in the area of wireless communication and sensor networks.
WSAN was a nascent, but fast growing technology for remote distributive monitoring and control that could help the nation to develop intelligent, distributive, collaborative, multi modality networked objects that sense and act in wide areas and in unattended environments, said Dr Tiwari.
