ICI launches "Dulux Light and Space Emulsion" in Chennai

Chennai, Dec 13 (UNI) ICI Paints, the UK based leading international paint company, today announced introduction of "Dulux Light and Space Emulsion", a revolutionary interior paint in Chennai market, for the first time outside UK.

Addressing a press conference here, Marketing Manager Vikrant Khanna said the emulsion paint had patented with "lumitech technology", which reflect twice as much light back into the room to give a feel of more spaciousness.

"The brand was launched in UK early this year and has met with tremendous response from market. India is the second market after UK to launch this revolutionary product," he said.

Being washable and fungus resistant, Dulux Light and Space was highly suitable for drawing room, kitchen and bathroom, he said adding the paint do not create a shiny or glossy effect, but make the room look bright and more spacious.

"We want to expand our share in interior emulsion market with the launch of this innovative product," Senior Sales Manager Rajeev Menon said.

The decorative paint industry was growing at about 17 per cent and the company was growing at 30 per cent in the South. In India, the company had a market share of about 12 per cent and 24 per cent in the premier segment, Mr Menon said.

The decorative paint industry stood at Rs 6000 crore in the country and "our vision is to grab a chunk of share in the standard emulsion market," he added.
