Dutt's associates and 2 female convicts seek time to surrender
Mumbai, Dec 13 (UNI) Convicted Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt's two associates and two female convicts in the 1993 Mumbai serial blast case today moved an application before the Special TADA Court, pleading for 15 days to one month time to surrender on humanitarian grounds, The application will come up for hearing tomorrow.
Sanjay Dutt's associates Yusuf Nullwala and Karfi Adjknia were convicted under the Arms Act along with the actor for helping in destroying evidence by getting rid of the weapons which were in the possession of the actor.
Two female co-conspirators Zaibunisa Kazi and Mobina Baya were convicted under the Terrorist And Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA) and other sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Zaibunisa was held guilty for possessing arms which were delivered at her residence at Bandra, at the instance of underworld kingpin Dawood Ibrahim's brother Anees Ibrahim.
The prosecution had submitted that Zaibunisa was a former girlfriend of prime absconding accused Tiger Memon.
The prosecution had earlier proved in the Court of Special TADA Judge P D Kode that one of the conspiratorial meetings of the blasts that rocked the metropolis on March 12 1993, were held at the Bandra residence of Mobina Baya. This meeting was attended by Tiger Memon and his associates.
All the four convicts were earlier granted time till tomorrow on humanitarian grounds.
