Cricket Star auditions to commence from Dec 16 in Mumbai

Mumbai, Dec 13 (UNI) The mini-auditions for 'Cricket Star', the talent hunt-cum-reality show in search of the best young cricketer in the world to be judged by Kapil Dev, Sourav Ganguly and Ajay Jadeja, have been completed in seven cities.

The Roadshow is now heading to Mumbai, which is the first of the four regional centres where applicants would be screened on December 16, 17 and 18.

A release here stated the last date of entries for the Mumbai auditions is December 14. The auditions will then move to cities like Hyderabad, Kolkata and Delhi, to shortlist candidates who will then enter the 11-week long 'Cricket Star Academy' in the quest of becoming India's First 'Cricket Star'.

In addition to winning a year's all-expenses-paid contract with Leicestershire County Cricket Club, the winner of the first series, Cricket Star India, will also win attractive cash prizes, the release noted.

The final 11 contestants will also have the opportunity to participate in the global rollout of Cricket Star, which is slated for a UK launch in summer 2007 and subsequent launch in Pakistan.

Cricket Star will be presented to TV audiences in a reality show format, simulcast on DD National and Zee Network, the release added.
