Candidate aide killed in election related incident

Anand, Dec 13: An aide of a Gram Panchayat election candidate was allegedly beaten to death, by several people belonging to the rival section in Bajipura village of Khambhat taluka.

The victim, identified as Narendra Makwana was rejoicing the victory of his candidate when some people attacked him.

He died soon after.

The counting of votes in the elections held in 7,283 Gram Panchayats was taken up today.

In another poll related incident, eleven people were arrested in Khanpur village of Umreth taluka for indulging in stone-pelting at a victory procession of a candidate.
