AP Govt appoints Cabinet Sub Committee on Telangana

Hyderabad, Dec 13 (UNI) In accordance with an assurance given in the State Assembly on December 11, the Andhra Pradesh Government has constituted a Sub-committee of the Cabinet at the political executive level to oversee the implementation of GO 610, which stipulated repatriation of employees of other regions from Telengana region, as suggested by the J M Girglani Commission.

The Government today announced the Constitution of a 'Group of Ministers' to oversee the implementation of the GO 610 as per the recommendations of the Commission.

The group, headed by Rural Development Minister D Srinivas, included the Home Minister K Jana Reddy, Social Welfare Minister, D Redya Naik, Revenue Minister D Prasada Rao, Municipal Administration Minister Koneru Rangana Rao and Panchayat Raj Minister J C Diwakar Reddy as members.

The Opposition criticised the government for its failure to implement the Girglani Commission report despite its commitment to do so. The government had assured the agitated members in the assembly that a committee would be constituted at political level to oversee the implementation of the Commission report.

According to an order issued by the chief secretary, J Harinarayan, the committee comprising six ministers had been constituted today.
