TADA court allows convict to attend nephew's marriage

Mumbai, Dec 12 (UNI) Mool Chand Shah, convicted for his involvement in the 1993 serial bomb blasts in the city, was today allowed by a designated TADA court to attend the marriage of his nephew in the matropolis tomorrow.

Designated judge Pramod Kode granted the permission to Shah for tomorrow only and directed police to take him to the marriage function and bring him back to the Arthur Road jail after the marriage was over.

Shah was convicted on the charge of aiding and abetting terrorism under section 3(3) of the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act and also on conspiracy charge under section 120-B of Indian Penal Code. He faces upto life imprisionment for his crime.

Shah, an alleged 'havala operator', was charged with funding prime absconding accused Tiger Memon who masterminded India's worst terror attack, in which 257 people were killed and 713 wounded in the country's commercial and entertainment capital on March 12, 1993.
