Sensex crashes by 600 points, closes at 12,803.39

Mumbai, Dec 12: The sensex crashed to a low of 12,803.39, with a whopping loss of nearly 600 points at 1500 hrs on the Bombay Stock Exchange(BSE) today.

Sensex quoted below 13,000 mark, touching a low of 12,803.39 on sustained heavy selling pressure by Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) and domestic investors. while the S&P CNX Nifty index of NSE touched below 3800 mark and was quoted a low of 3705 with a major loss of 144 points from it's last close of 3849.50, brokers said.
