One killed, 28 injured in road accidents in HP
Shimla, Dec 12 (UNI) One person was killed and 28 injured in three separate road accidents in Kinnaur, Chamba and Sirmaur districts of Himachal Pradesh today, police sources said.
One person, identified as Mohinder Kumar, was killed and another seriously injured after their vehicle fell into a gorge at Sunag village of Kinnuar district.
The sources said the cause of the accident was not immediately known, adding that the injured was yet to be identified.
In another accident in Sirmaur district, 12 school children of DAV School of Poanta Sahib were injured when their bus fell into a gorge near Vikasnagar in Uttaranchal, reports reaching here said.
The bus was carrying children on a routine visit to Vikasnagar when the driver reportedly failed to negotiate a sharp curve near Kullah Bridge and the bus fell into the gorge.
The sources said the injured people were rushed to a government hospital at Ponta Sahib, while the Uttaranchal Police has registered a case against the bus driver.
In yet another accident in the state, 16 people were injured after an Himachal Road Transport Corportion (HRTC) bus fell into a gorge at Mula More in Chamba district.
The cause of the accident was not yet known, the sources said, adding that cases have been registered and investigation were on.
