No decision yet on raising retirement age of Mah employees:CM

Nagpur, Dec. 12 (UNI) The Maharashtra Government has not yet made a decision on increasing the retirement age of its employees from 58 to 60 years, Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh told the Legislative Assembly today.

The proposal was under the consideration of the government, Mr Deshmukh told Vinay Natu (BJP) and several others in a written reply.

Similarly, a proposal to implement five-day working week in the offices of the state government was also under consideration, Mr Deshmukh said. The government had received a proposal in this regard from the gazetted officers and employees unions, he said.

NEW AIRPORT: In another written reply to Eknath Shinde (Shiv Sena) and two others, Mr Deshmukh said land for the proposed new international airport at Panvel near Mumbai was being acquired under the Navi Mumbai project of City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO). The local population was not opposed to the acquisition, but only wanted the displaced persons to be rehabilitated properly, Mr Deshmukh said.

JNURM PROPOSALS: The Centre had cleared 19 proposal from the state government under the Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission (JNURM), Mr Deshmukh, who holds the Urban Development portfolio, told Gopinath Munde (BJP) and others in a written reply. Mr Deshmukh said the 19 proposals included two for Greater Mumbai, five for Nagpur, two for Pune, eight for Nanded-Waghala, and one each for Pimpri-Chinchwad and Nashik.

The state government had submitted to the Centre 47 proposals under JNRUM, which included 5 for Greater Mumbai, 2 for Pune, 13 for Nagpur, 8 for Nanded-Waghala, 4 for Nashik, 8 for Pimpri-Chinchwad and 7 for Thane, the Chief Minister said.

MILL LAND DEVELOPMENT: The state government had decided to allow an additional floor space index (FSI) of 200 per cent for land allotted to Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) under the mill land development programme in Mumbai, Mr Deshmukh told Kalidas Kolambkar (Congress) and several others. The government had issued orders in this regard to Mumbai Municipal Corporation (MMC) on November 7 last, Mr Deshmukh said.

This would ensure that residential units were available to the maximum possible mill workers and boost the redevelopment of old and dilapidated buildings in the capital, he said.
