Nepali girls on way to Saudi Arabia rescued
Lucknow, Dec 12 (UNI) Five Nepali girls, including a teenager, on way to Saudi Arabia --purportedly for prostitution -- were rescued in the Maharajganj district of Uttar Pradesh, officials said today.
A middle-aged woman, who was taking the five to Mumbai, was also arrested.
Working on a tip off, Satarkta Sewa Anusthan, a local NGO intercepted a Tata Sumo in Sanauli last night and rescued the girls.
The occupants of the vehicle were later handed over to the police, a Home department official said here.
Ten Nepali passports, including those of the five girls, were also recovered by the police.
The woman, identified as Harikala Dhimre was paid Rs 30,000 to take the girls to Mumbai, from where they were to fly to Saudi Arabia.
