Meghalaya pays tributes to Pa Togan Sangma

Shillong, Dec 12 (UNI) The death anniversary of Pa Togan Nengminja Sangma, a great patriot from Garo Hills who fought against the British more than a century ago, was observed on December 12, at Sisobibra near Williamnagar, East Garo Hills.

To mark the occasion, a commemorative function was held on the day at Sisobibra, which was thinly attended following 'misunderstanding' between the Pa Togan Memorial Association and Garo Students' Union.

However, the function was attended by government officials, teachers and Nokmas.

The highlights of the day included various cultural programmes and paying of floral tributes to the statue of Pa Togan by dignitaries present on the occasion.
