Shillong, Dec 12 (UNI) The Garo Students' Union (GSU) today demanded introduction of a government sposnored Bill to ensure all winter assembly session be held at Tura, district headquarters of West Garo Hills in Meghalya from next year.

"This time, we want the government to assure the people of Garo hills in this regard by passing the Bill in the floor of the House,'' GSU President Andreas T Sangma told UNI here over the phone from Tura.

Earlier, Mr Sangma said the government had assured them to host the winter assembly session in Tura but it failed.

Pressurising the government to fulfil its assurance, the GSU yesterday sponsored a one-day non-cooperation movement and followed by its three-day economic blockade beginning today's from 1800 hrs to 0400 hrs.

The road blockade would affect the NH 62 connecting Garo Hills and Asom.
