Yellow Fin Tuna predominant on Andhra coast : Minister
New Delhi, Dec 11 (UNI) A recent official survey has found predominant occurrence of Yellow Fin Tuna along the coast of Andhra Pradesh, the Lok Sabha was informed today.
Minister of State for Agriculture Taslimuddin said in a written reply that the Fishery Survey of India had surved the coast of Andhra Pradesh with the help of vessels "Matsya Drushti" and "Blue Marlin".
The survey, which was done using monofilament long line and multifilament long line gears, was carried out to assess the tuna potential of the coast.
Tuna is one of the fish varieties exported to countries like Japan.
